Mush

Thursdays. Not Saturdays. Not Sundays. But Thursdays make me all mushy, honestly for reasons unknown. So keeping this frame of mind, in mind here’s a list of some of my favorite senti-menti songs.

In random order…

You Could Be Happy by Snow Patrol (***keep the tissue box handy)

Goodbye My Lover by James Blunt (*** his best ever, me thinks)

Just Another Day by John Secada

You Were Meant For Me by Jewel (*** where the heck has she disappeared)

Mar Jawan from the film Fashion

Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatiein by Pankaj Udhas (***had a major crush on the Aussie bloke in the video)

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (***perfect proposal song, don’t ya think?)

Rehna Tu from the film Delhi 6

Slave To Love by Bryan Ferry (***classic 80’s number)

Dilemma by Nelly & Kelly (***my all time favorite R&B track)

Stepping Stone by Duffy (***freaking amazing voice)

Use Somebody by Kings of Leon

The Little Things by Colbie Caillat

Eternal Flame by Bangles

I Bruise Easily by Natasha Bedingfield

And while I continue with the mushiness all through the day, please feel free to contribute to the list.

Saks, I think Thursday makes you mushy because it seems to be the calmest day of the week, less of rush and noise and people working overtime?

Here’s another list, of sentimental and overtly mawkish songs that I tend to put on :)

Bon Iver – Flume / Skinny Love / Blindsided
Coldplay – Warning Sign
Hoobastank – The Reason
DeVotchka – You love me
Farida Khannum – Aaj jaane ki zid na karo (no other cover does justice to the original)
George Winston – Variations on Pachelbel’s Canon in D
Lenny Kravitz – I’ll be waiting
Ryan Cabrera – True
Goo Goo Dolls – Iris
The Weepies – Gotta Have you
Violent Femmes – Good Feeling
Iz – Somewhere Over the Rainbow
(Also the version covered by Harry Nilsson in the 60s which was used in You’ve Got Mail. The original song was sung by Judy Garland for Wizard of Oz)
Bird York – Have no fear
Billy Joel – She’s always a woman to me
U2 – With or Without You
Daniel Bedingfield – You’re not the one (..coz I noticed Natasha is present on your list ;) )
…and so on… :)
