Thou Shall Be Hairless

akshay001

What’s your best asset?

My cleavage. Women used to love my hairy chest. [Link]

Er…cleavage definitely yes but hairy-ness, I so don’t think not. I remember even as a (hot blooded) teenager being traumatized by images of Harry Kumar from films like Saugandh, Mr. Bond, Mohra and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (just to name a few). That unnatural growth of black cobwebs all over the otherwise chiseled chest. And don’t even get me started on those scary armpits.

hairyanil Besides Akshay, those days we were also subjected to (mercifully) limited nakedness of none other than the Sartaj of Hairdom uff the Onion Man uff Anil Kapoor. Don’t know how much of this is true but there were rumors that producers would give added monetary compensations to actresses for agreeing to do intimate scenes with shirtless Anil.

Thankfully though over time better hygienic fashion sense prevailed. And with the likes of Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt & Saif Ali Khan the definition of ‘macho’ got revamped. Honestly speaking, I never understood the reasoning behind hairy bodies being considered a sign of mardangi.

Though I wonder when will the other Akshay (Khanna) start shaving his ghar ki kheeti. Remember that horrific shirtless window scene from the film Race. *shudders with yukiness*

Body hair is linked to testosterone, if I recall my 8th standard biology correctly. But then again…
