Whot An Umbrella!

Okay Okay I get it; this song has been played to death and there are many who still don’t get how a sentence sounding like “Ella ella eh eh eh” can manage to rule Music charts for several weeks. I too questioned my taste while humming R&B singer Rihanna’s Umbrella in my car, at home, in the loo, at work, on my phone…surely you get the gist.

But as they say, “One cannot ignore the facts” and the fact is this song is freaking awesome. At first it may go bouncer but then it’s almost additive. Lyric’s aren’t extraordinary instead they are simple, non-completed and yet very meaningful.

When the sun shines, we’ll shine together
Told you I’ll be here forever
Said I’ll always be a friend
Took an oath I’ma stick it out till the end
Now that it’s raining more than ever
Know that we’ll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella

As for the video, anything said would be less – I think it completely rocks. Rihanna looks super hot and never thought an umbrella could be used so efficiently as a dancing prop. Don’t believe me then check it out for yourself.

All in all, Umbrella was one of the best dance tracks to be released in 2007 but thanks to a Bollywood-obsessed DJ, I almost felt my 31st night to be in-complete without shaking a leg to it (Hopefully your DJ wasn’t as disturbing).

[Ps – Wish you all the very best in 2008 and to my special ones, lots of love and happiness.]

Yup, the song is fantastic. In fact the entire album is filled with foot-tapping music.

And wish you a very happy new year as well. Keep rocking blog queen. :)

i prefer Beyonce then Rihanna, because both the songs are meaning less but Beyonce has much more to show then Rihanna ;-)

I have 4 different versions of that track IIRC. Check out the remix feat. Chris Brown – it’s the most fun! :D

Happy New Year Saksy!

Definately one of the grooviest singles of last year. Though i prefer Nelly Furtado and Timbaland combination.

Wish you a very happy new year. ;-)
