TEIO’s Great Dhamaka 1000th Post!

TA-DAH!!! Welcome to the brand-spanking-new ‘Sakshi Juneja’s To Each It’s Own!

While you’re checking out all the new stuff, do congratulate Saks for reaching the 1000 post milestone here at TEIO! It’s been a fun journey, for both Sakshi & her readers, with campaigns, interviews and opinions about almost everything under the hot Indian sun.

I first chanced upon Sakshi’s blog in October of 2005, on a post about her Dalmatian’s pups and I found in her a kindred dog-loving spirit. At that time I had mailed her about buying one and I was completely blown away that this stranger I just "met" online offered to give away one of her precious pups to me!

Our first meeting in January 2006, at the very first blog meet I attended, was brief. She entered, arm in sling, just as I was leaving. I remember thinking, "Ah, so that’s the sweet girl, who offered me one of her pups!"

Fate has a strange way of turning things around though. In October of the same year, Sakshi invited me for a party at her home. To this day, she admits: "I have no idea why I called you!" considering we were only in touch online, through comments at each other’s blogs.

Our friendship that took roots after that party, has developed into one of the closest relationships I have had, one that I cherish deeply.

It’s not the most obvious friendship – though Saks and I have things in common (like our blogs, which we complete obsess over!), we have more things at opposite poles. I would have never imagined being so close to someone like her, but the truth of the matter is, it is just impossible not to love Sakshi once you’ve met her.

I don’t know if it’s her child-like innocence or her in-your-face-honesty that often crosses the border of crass or her exuberance of life (Saks is one of the most alive people I know) or her enormous ability to love deeply and from the heart that endears her to me, and to the ones who are blessed enough to be her close friends, the most.

What I do know is that, without Sakshi Juneja, life would have a lot less color!

Having praised Saks a bit, let me also clue you guys into the other side of Saks. Even I wrote the line above, I could just imagine Sakshi saying "What do you mean ‘lot less color’, your life wouldn’t be empty without me?" – That’s because, as perhaps the ones of you who haven’t met her personally don’t know, Sakshi is the QUEEN of emotional blackmail. She’s also got the uncanny ability to spin everything around so that it perfectly fits the point she’s trying to prove. If you thought Harbhajan was a good spinner, Saks is, as I call her, Bajji ka Baap.

Weighing the (enormous) good against the (minute, laughable) bad (which, incidentally, she’ll kill me for anyway), I know I am super blessed to have Sakshi in my life.

This then, To Each It’s Own’s 1000th post, is dedicated to her – May you always be blessed Sakshi; with all that God desires for you. May you see health, wealth, happiness and family and friends from near & far loving you always.

And may we, your dedicated blog readers continue to read your Saksh-isms, from the serious to the silly, from Jessica Lall to John Abraham; bring on those opinions girl! Here’s my (virtual) glass raised to you & to ‘To Each It’s Own’!

Melody – Aww! This is just so touchy (mentioned this in the morning as well) and since you have been so lovely, I think it’s time I make a few confessions.

- Firstly never intended to give you any of the pups, I was just being polite.
- The reason why I invited you to the Halloween Blog Meet was because someone dropped out from the guest list and you know how finicky I am about numbers.

So yeah with this heavy load out of the way, you still friends with me, no?

Shantanu – Thanks boss! And a bonus “thank you” for the being the first to comment. :)

Gaurav – Thank you.

Raj – Tell me about it. And thanks for the theme compliment. ;)

Anshul – Thanku yaar but you know it’s not always easy to please everyone. ;)

Mehak – Wow, babes where have you been? Thanks re. :)

Hey Saks,

Like the new vibrant theme, i think it goes well with your personality.1000th post , too much madam!!!Wat a milestone to achieve.Seriously, tell me how does it feel?

I hav noticed this passge for the 1st time “We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is ‘decency’ but to let them get to you is ‘weakness’. “Really inspired me.

I wish you all the best of luck & success. May ur numbers keep growin & your popularity touches a new high(actually it aint so bad now too)

Lastly, Mel that was a fantastic post, i totally concur with u.
