Hi saakshi,

I watched this movie day before yesterday and really liked it. It's such a plain and simple story but refreshing indeed. kareena is awesome... looked beautiful and acted superbly too... Dialogs & incidents are taken from our daily life only... Simple yet stylish and beautiful.

We say 'life is a journey'.. well this movie tells us more precisely that it's a train journey.

After JWM, I am lookng for Imtiaz's previous movie 'Socha Na Tha'. My friends who have watched that movie, told me that that's also a nice movie. There the male character was confused in love, and here the female lead is, in JWM.

Atlast but not the least, Imtiaz is from my place i.e Jamshedpur.

Geek Next Door - Well maybe you should and then you can teach me as well :)

Anywaz on a more serious note, Kareena does appear a bit loud but then that's what her role demands. So you can't really blame her, on the whole she has done a good job.

Jasleen - Thanks. :)

I haven't watched the movie, but somebody downloaded the trailer and shared it on the local network, so I could watch only that. Now, judging a movie based on my "tryst" with the trailer would be wrong, but I found Kareena Kapoor a bit too loud in whatever bits I've seen. Should I take some adaptive volume control device with me, if ever, I go to watch it? I'll train the device with the voices in that trailer. ;-)

I just finished watching this movie as well and was surfing for more info about Imtiaz Ali's future projects that I arrived at your blog (it is superb). The link to his interview brough me here.

I completely agree with your review. I was slightly apprehensive of Kareena being able to carry an effervescent "Sikhni's" role but she did a great job. I can't think of anyone from the younger lot to have been able to do it as much justice. I had liked them together in Chupke Chupke as well. Its too bad that they broke up in real life but that has nothing to do with the film (& none of my business).

Shahid was excellent as well. He seemed to get better as teh film progressed but Kareena just knew what was going on! Her expressions, her timing, and all the other technical stuff - seemed just fine and good enough for me to recommend someone else to devote 2 1/2 hours of their life to this piece of entertainment.

I saw part of this movie and thought it sucked! Kareena is shrill and over-acts in the worst way. Her expressions were totally out of sink with the moment. For example, when she misses the second train, her look is less of surprise and frustration, but of horror (ok you can justify some horror/fear) but she looked like she was about to be in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I couldn't watch her walking around like a jatni and screaming at everyone. I couldn't even watch the whole thing...blech!
