Yes…Yes…yes, I went for Ramu’s re-vamped version of yester-years cult flick, Sholay. Despite the "red" bold warnings flashing on my tele-screen, despite the solid "black" critical reviews across all daily tabloids and despite humble "blue" pleads from family and friends; but as they say, a Bollywood maniac is gotto do…what a Bollywood maniac is gotto do.
On the bad side, I went ahead with my disastrous plan in the company of mum. But on the good side, I had forewarned of all the not-so-happy feedbacks. Anyway, getting back to the review, in order to help you understand better Ram Gopal Varma’s most controversial film, here is the actual scenario of the movie session I went for.

Okay, now on a slightly serious note, I actually didn’t find the movie to be all that bad. Now this could also be because I had prepared myself for the worse (or I have become immune to Ramu’s style of churning out mediocre films), an out-n-out pathetic film. If you don’t compare it (which I agree, is really hard not to) with the original, RGV’s Aag is your regular gansta meets masala meets early 80s kind-da movie.
At times slow paces, seriously so slow that you could yawn, stretch you legs and dig into your popcorn only to realize that the main protagonists on the screen, haven’ moved a muscle. From the elaborate star cast, the only worth mentioning is Amitabh Bachchan who plays the role of evil Baban – creepy sometimes and other times appears to be a retard.
As for Ram Gopal Varma’s direction, well do I really need to emphasis on that? Nope, I don’t think so.
Parting words- I am proud to say that I survived Ramu’s torturous Agni pariksha while my mum slept through it all.
(Somewhere in the city, I can imagine the Sippys hosting week-end long celebration. What for? Oh! Come on, I know you aren’t that naive).
