Maybe he is guilty, maybe not but the case as it was prosecuted against Salman is pretty weak. It relies solely on the testimony of one witness who changed his statements a couple of times - even later on saying that he was coerced by the police to testify against Salman (however, his statement was to the press and not the court - therefore is not admissable) Questions of his reliability should be raised.

I don't care one way or another about Salman - I've only seen a few of his movies and wasn't terribly impressed. But everyone even the most "bratty" deserves a fair trial. You should not be happy that somebody got sent to jail simply because you think that person is "bad." That is not justice and sets a very bad precedent. The prosecution has to prove with evidence that the accused is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and for whatever reason, I don't believe that is the case here. When the judge states that he wants to make "an example" of Salman and gives a sentence that is totally disproportionate to the crime, then you have to wonder if justice was truly the motivation of the court.

He seem to exude a certain charisma, and I think it is his ability to live a charmed life that is appealing, and I do understand your sentiments. Sometimes our admiration is stronger than the imperfections of the admired. But as the fate of all charmed lives, the enigma eventually fades in the glare of the public eye.

Don't worry Sakshi. We all know, with the way our judicial system works your Sallu will be out in no time. For crying out loud, look at Sanjay Dutt.

Paanch saal mein police wale uski saari garmi nikaal denge. I hope he gets no relief. And overall its rigorous imprisonment. Means, Sallu miyan got enough time to build his body some more...hahahaha

And also find time to scratch his non-existent grey cells to try and remember who Vivek Oberoi and John Abraham are....hahaha

Saala...nautanki.

Well, Sakshi,

Why people dont favour him much over Sanjay is because Salman is a brat and behaves like one, inspite of several cases against him. Disregarding the case of drunken driving(he did not intentionally run them over), he is a spoilt brat. A woman-basher yes. A communal minded person, yes (recall him saying a couple of times that he is being hounded by police because he is muslim). A brawler yes.. (a news channel showed videos of salman fighting abhishek bacchan with a daru ka bottle in his hands)..

Once is ok, but so many times ??

Dear M, let me put it this way....you are free to believe whatever you want and similarly so do I. As mentioned in the post, I know the law is correct in this case...but as a fan, I think differently. It's true when they say "Your past shall forever haunt you"...and so it is with Salman.

Salman Khan is a bully & a tyrant. Worse, when you think about his lack of concern for other's lives. He's a woman-basher (it's ironic that you mentioned your feminist(?) side being pampered reg. Chak De & featured Borwankar as one of the top Mumbayites just a few posts back). I know it's wrong to judge people unless you know them really, really intimately but after witnessing the ugly facade this guy has projected time and time again one can't help but wish he's locked up for a considerable amount of time.
