Forgiveness, No Shits!
They say there are some “pains†that can never be forgotten, not with Time or with genuine remorse. And its perfect example is Bollywood’s brat boy Salman Khan’s tiff with jinxy boy Vivek Oberoi. An incident where Salman was shamed with accusation by a newcomer and Vivek who did manage to hog the limelight then but continues to regret his foolishness till this date.
Ever since Kyun! Phuss Ho Gaya Na…I mean ex-Ms. World and now Mrs. Bachchan chucked Vivek’s company, the entire Oberoi clan has been working hard towards mending their relationship with the Khan Parivaar. But as a famous Hindi song goes, “Doston se pyar kiya, Dushmano se badlaa liyaâ€, Sallu bhai is known to go the extra mile for friends but you end up in his bad books, you will stay there for a lifetime and that’s a guarantee.
So while Salman continues to ignore Vivek’s presence, it’s we the audience, who enjoys the thrill from such dog fights. But what took me by surprise, was Vivek’s act of publically apologizing to Khan Bhai at the recently held 10th Rajiv Gandhi Awards function, in Mumbai.
Don’t believe me, check this out.

And no this is not camera trick but in fact a reality.
But apna Chandu continues to suffer from severe jinx-tro infection because in spite of his (unadulterated) public display, Salman refuses to call it “peaceâ€. Now me being a big time Salman fan, will always stand by his decision however in Vivek’s case, I think he is being a wee-bit harsh. Agreed the humiliation in front of the entire nation and being called a “retard†on several cable channels – is not something one could easily move over but if the other party is making such sincere efforts, anyone’s heart would melt.
Plus with the decision on the appeal against the Poaching case judgment coming up at the end of this month, Sallu should re-consider patching up with Oberoi Jr.; I mean who knows maybe Vivek’s heartfelt prayers help in keeping him out of prison.

We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is 'decency' but to let them get to you is 'weakness'.

Ohh, you are such a softie! I think he deserves a little more grief before Sallu should give in…

Funny how Vivek’s heartfelt moments always seem to happen in front of the camera. And funny how he wants so badly to make up with Salman.

Well this had to happen sooner or later. The fact is Vivek baba knows that he can’t survive in this Industry where everyone works in gangs. Since the Johar and Chopra gangs are way above his calibre, especially after his tantrum stints with them…begging to Salman might help him bag a few “big banner” roles. I mean look what Salman did for Govinda with their film Partner.

Anuj,
Salman got Govinda a role in a David Dhawan film ?? I think its the other way round.. or there is nothing at all actually.
Sakshi,
Why did Salman forgive Sahrukh then ?? Or was it the other way round,.. Saahrook “Gay” Khan forgave Sallu miyan ? Is it because of some politics at play here… Viveks father campaigned for the BJP for a while, while Saahrook and Sallu are Congressi types.. (Saahrook has even taken on Amar Singh and has met Sonia “Madam”)
Vivek isnt getting good roles, but IMHO, he is a better actor than Sallu.. In a shorter time, Vivek has given some good performances like Road, Shootout, Company, etc.
Sallu is better for david dhawan type mass comedies and romantic stuff..

Shadows : Anuj, is some-what correct. Salman had a big part to play in helping Govinda get the role especially since it was his brother Sohail’s home production. Also if you have seen the movie, its Govinda who enjoys the best of scenes and dialogues.
As for talking about Vivek, after John Abraham he is the second guy in Bollywood who I sincerely can’t stand. Maybe cause I have known him personally (we live in the same housing block). Acting once, I thought he was good only in Company….but there I would give the credit to Ram Gopal Verma…and please Vivek was annoying as hell in Shootout.
As for Sallu, frankly who cares about acting when you look like such a “dude”.

Why is Vivek demeaning himself by trying to ask for apologies from someone like Nangu Pangu? Soon he will be in jail and then Vivek can have a blast laughing.

I agree with Full2njoy. After all, Sallu Mian is an over-the-hill swollen eyed and bloated bodied has-been, so why demean yourself trying to win this guy over?
Salman’s attitude speaks volumes about the kind of person he is, and in fact, reinforces the image that Vivek was painting about him in that infamous press conference?
On that point, I have never understood what made Vivek Oberoi climb down so meekly after that impassioned plea before the media? Was it something to do with the clout that Sallu had in Bollywood which could have jeopardised Vivek’s fledgling career? Or was it something even more sinister? After all, he had (as he claimed) 41 cellphone calls and cellphone records are easily available - so he could have proved himself to be right. His climbdown only gave voice to Sallu fans, who started screaming (in relief) that Vivek was trying to frame him.
