Stabbed 11 Times
On 24th morning, a milkman came across a three-day-old infant found abandoned in a garbage dump outside Lokhandwala complex in Kandivli (W). He was rushed to Bhagwati hospital in Borivli. The innocent soul was bleeding profusely because of MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS on his tiny frame.
An examination revealed that the child weighing just 2.5 kilogram had 11 stab wounds on the skull, five on the left ear, two on the shoulder, another two on the upper back, four on the lower back, one on the left thigh and another one on the neck. “We suspect the injuries may have been caused by a sharp instrument,†Dr Oak said on Wednesday.
Each year hundreds of infants and young children are left helpless in dark corners of our metropolitan cities, many of whom rarely make it to a Social Welfare Institution. Reasons could be anything –poverty, family breakdown, irresponsible fatherhood, premature motherhood, illegitimate birth and at times extreme cases such as death of both parents.
Add to this the ever growing problem of female foeticide. If you think this sucks, here’s another slap - Studies have shown that parents prefer to eliminate the baby girl rather than abandon her.
And this my people, is our 21st Century reality. The future looks depressing and black.
We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is 'decency' but to let them get to you is 'weakness'.

This is sick. Sometimes life comes full circle for such people when they can’t find a bride for their son! (This a friend of mine told me, was actually happening in his community and they’ve ‘woken up’ too late).

Its pathetic the state our country is in, we simply don’t care about anyone but our own selfish motives. This nation has gone to the dogs and we just have to accept it.

Sick indeed.. Why have kids when you cannot give them a decent life !!!
I said this earlier on some other commentspace , it has a lot to do with security and law and order. In a safer and more secure environment, and strict clampdowns on dowry, we would not see much of these incidents.. Dowry being stigmatized also means lower or middle class parents may bring up their daughters without fear of dowry demands etc.. Dowry and bad internal security are the root causes…
Of course, I was shouted down by the usual secular, progressive commentators..

It is your blog; and you should have knew; this news is talking about “female foeticide.” which you highlighted again;
i do not know from which source it came from; i found it on your blog; so u said same thing.
it is true you never said Baby is Boy; but you portrait gilrs are always victims.
and i know in india; how men are harassed everyday with false alegations and gender biased laws.do not try to get sympathy to gilrs in the name of boy child.
