Steve Wozniak when asked, “What do you think of the iPhone and do you think it will be a success,” replied, “I don’t know. It will be a big hit off the bat, but after people have the iPhone it will truly be judged and compared. Will word of mouth kill it or make it a hit? Who knows? I can’t even give my emotional feelings until I have a production unit for a while.”
And that was prior to the release of iPhone. ..:Source:.. Listen to the mp3 interview on that site, it is good. (Not so) Apparently, even Woz is not too enthusiastic about iPhone. That does not mean you should not be, but seriously, why?
The way its US release has been, only AT&T being given the rights, and now the plans of UK release with the sole rights with O2, I am not expecting its India release to be any different, that according to “sources” is almost 10 months in future. The sole rights thing takes everything away from the consumer, and I for one would not want to be in control of a phone company. Apart from that issue, there is a huge problem with that DRM thingy: http://defectivebydesign.org/blog/1044.

because i love you so much I WON’T buy you an iphone - instead I’ll tell you to wait till it releases in India and you can actually use it on a network here.
