Now this is what makes my trip to Delhi a worthwhile visit. Not that I don’t enjoy my time with my cousins and all but seriously just one bite of these super-delicious samosas and orgasmic pleasure is guaranteed (literally).

Focus of Attention: Samosas and Jalebies
Where: East Patel Nagar
Price: Samosas (Rs. 4 per pc) & Jalebies (Rs. 15 half kilo)

Situated in one of the by-lanes of East Patel Nagar, this nameless shop is known in the suburb for its mouthwatering somosas and other pukwans. Just the way in Mumbai, vada pav is popularly known as the poor man’s food….for Delhi its samosas.

Again not sure if folks who are finicky about hygiene, etc would be interested in eating from here but others who are not so fussy, simply have to try this place out. Samosas are served with spicy-tangy imli chutney which adds to the taste 10 times more.

And if you are a sweeta-ho-lic like me, then you have to try their juicy jalebies. Every drop of its syrup is heavenly and all those weight-watchers can go and take a hike.

I like samosas, but I mostly avoid them. Never know when they will turn out too spicy (I hate spicy food, some friends say “tu galti se India mein paida hua hai”). Somehow, I think that when food is spicy, it kills the natural flavour and taste of the food.
Plus, samosas, even when not spicy, generally cause me acidity. Same reason I avoid bhel, panipuri, pauwa, etc and even pizzas.
Life is boring.. without all these
I thought its because of the maida in the bread, but surprisingly, McDonald burgers dont have that effect on me.

I am a regular at this samosa shop and all I can say is that once you have had these samosas, you will never enjoy any other samosa anywhere. the Jalebis are also great.
