John in a porn/soft-porn/silent-porn? Well, a couple of kisses in a hindi movie makes it a porn flick. And, the same/more in an english one is accepted as a nice/decent/romantic hollywood movie. Passions can’t and shouldn’t be shown by two bushes/flowers or two birds kissing. It’s high time we grew up.

As for his acting skills are concerned, we r used to masala films so much that we consider actors who over-emote to be good actors. John doesn’t really fall into that category. His movies mainly attract the youth (sans a few like u ) and do well at the box-office. Those kinda movies don’t need overdose of acting, but style. Which John carries with him. That way, he’s a star.

Oh…and forgot. Salman survived in the industry for almost 17 years now with one “constipated look”. Am sure John will sail thru too.
If acting was so important then, Al Pacino would be one of the highest earning actor in Hollywood. During his heydays, Arnold used to be paid close to USD 15 million per movie. So much for a wodden face with a dialogue.

and ya forgot again. Abhishek Bachan has also survived for almost 6-7 years with just one “pissed off” expression. He still survives aint it.

All cool dudes [whether really cool or wannabes] flash their Calvin Klein. Not just celebrities but even college students so if John does that it should be ok, he is a model, has to show off!
Oh comeon! Agreed Salman has not acted pretty well in all movies ,but in many movies he has. People have either looks or can act well, very few have both the qualities. Salman has both good looks and some talent.

Well, at first reading, it sounds like a fatwa…I hope it is not . If it is, could you at least let me know what are the charges against me.

To my defence, let me say that if I didn’t mean them I wouldn’t have written them. Those are my views on his acting skills and the type of movies he does.

John is a great looking guy but an extremely limited actor. He could never take a role that didn’t already have something already interesting about it and make it better. He is extremely savvy however and chooses movies and roles well. He also knows how to handles the media.

Salman is a very underrated talent, imo. He often has roles that are totally nonsensical but somehow manages to make them believable or at least make you feel sympathetic to his characters. He is not calculating like John – which is a good and bad thing. Good because that aspect of his personality is reflected in his good performances – he is very spontaneous and in the moment. Bad because it makes him choose movies and roles for t reasons that aren’t necessarily going to enhance his career.
