So this coming Friday we shall witness the Box-Office war between two budhas, namely Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt and their respective films, Cheeni Kum (CK) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (SAL).
Agreed, both films belong to totally different genres, CK is more off a comedy flick whereas SAL is your typical gangster film. But then again logically thinking, one film is bound to be doomed.
Now if you ask me as to which of these two films is on my priority list, well I have been suffering from Bollywood frenzy right from my young days, so without any doubt I will be watching CK and SAL this very weekend, irrespective of their published reviews.

However, Cheeni Kum is what has got my fancy at the moment. From whatever has been shown in the promos, it guarantees to be laugh riot but not on the lines David Dhawan’s slapstick kinds or Priyadarsan’s confusing ones. Amitabh Bachchan (sporting a ponytail) seems to be the perfect actor to fit the role of 64 years-old chief in love with 34 years-old unmarried woman, enacted by the ever-talented Tabu and how they together convince the leading lady’s 48 years-old father aka. Master of Comical Errors, Paresh Rawal. With the presence of such fantastic star-cast and very intriguing storyline, this film is a sure-shot winner.
On the other hand, Shootout at Lokhandwala as I mentioned earlier appears to be one of those dime-a-dozen, Mumbai Police wiping out the Underworld films. Though in my opinion, the only man to master the art, atleast in genre is none other but the tainted Ram Gopal Verma. Now whether director Sanjay Gupta and his gang of ten macho men are able to pull off a stunner here, well only time will tell. The only two reasons for my watching this film are, firstly Sanjay Dutt looks awesome (in the promos) and secondly Vivek Oberoi appears to be a stinker, yet again. Hopefully the faith of this film won’t be as dark as Mr. Gupta’s last release, Zinda or else this will surely be the end of the road for likes of Viveks and Tusshars. But then again Tusshar can always depend on his big sister and her saas-bahu serials.
So yeah, from the looks of it I have a gut feeling that the sugar-less love story will be far more worth your time and money than Lokhandwala sightseeing.

Last night while watching Shootout at Lokhandwala (SAL) I was beaming with joy, gloating in a pool of pride and all this not because I am proud of Apoorva Lakhia’s directorial skills but because I was spot on withmy prediction. Yes people, Shootout at Lokhandwala is a complete bukwass philum. I really feel sorry for all those who expected this gangster rap to be rocking, but yaar if you mix 5 star class pasta with roadside
