Top Five Internet Lies

Read the top five lies that men say to women on the internet.

5. “You’re different … I’ve never felt like this about someone I’ve never met before”

4. “I’m new online and havn’t had time to create a profile … but tell me more about yourself”

3. “I’m not like most guys here, I just want to meet so we can just have coffee and get to know each other (at the hotel coffee shop).”

2. “Yes of course I’m female”

And the No. 1 Lie is…..

“Tonight my love … our souls have touched”

“I just want to be your friend.”

Or how about “I am very cool and/or sexy.Scrap me to find out about me”

I was going through someone’s profile on orkut sometime and the ‘about me’ reads:”i don’t like self praising…add me to ur list if you want to find more about me.”

Upon scrolling further down,’Passions’:”Squash,Tennis and girls.and i have a reputation in all those units”

Definitely the first time that someone had put girls as a passion.Or maybe just an attempt to convince onlookers that “hey guys,i know you guys never see me with girls but see they are my passion.i don’t swing the other way”.

However, orkut is not that all bad. There are some sensible people out there as well.Just take this gentleman for example:

“if i say hi…….u may say whoz this….
if i ask for chat….u may say why??….
if i ask u for a coffee…..u may say wt rubbish….
if i say i liked ur profile……u may say m flattering u…..
if i ask for frnship…….u may say m flirting……

so can u plz suggest me hw to start wid a new relation………????named frnd’ship
till u reply i am trying wid a request………”

I’ll just coment on the #5 – what would you say if women says this lines – would she be telling the words truly not otherwise?
Or is she also plainly blurting out a lie?

Some more lies, (I never used these):
- I am not married
- I am 6 foot tall, athletic built
- Your name sounds familiar, did you go to

And of course, as your already know, I am a female.

Ha! That’s a major reason why I don’t use Orkut or any other network (In fact, I have a piece half-written which is titled “Are you Anarcut?”). There’s too much junk out there that doesn’t discriminate on any grounds (which is good). Not even on gender (which is bad).
How would I feel, tell me, when I get an email from some ‘Arvind S.’ saying “Hi, I found your email from a mass forwarded email that came from a friend. I am not sure if you are a girl. If you are, plz plz plz reply to me. You will not be disappointed. I am rich and I am very caring.I can make your life beautiful. I will tell you everything about myself and also send pictures. Just reply ok? Waiting eagerly to hear from you.*pictures of flowers and hearts* – Ary). The irritating part is that ALL my email IDs have my name clearly spelled so there’s no ambiguity like “lonelyheart77@yahoo.com” or “smiling_puppy@hotmail.com” which could cause a confusion.
There was a time when I used instant messengers for a lot of friends but now my Yahoo has 9 contacts (out of which 4 are family and 2 never log on). MSN, of course, I sometimes use for work and project discussions and also for friends across the globe who bump into me once a month.
Otherwise , I am virtually invisible to acquaintances via all channels except emails and inaccessible to strangers except through the blog. And that doesn’t get spammed either.
