Reply To All My Dissenters

It seems that my previous post has stirred up a hornets’ nest! Most of my dissenters have delighted themselves by throwing abusive literary expletives! Be it so.

Its time I make it clear to my Dalit supporters that I have absolutely no malice or antipathy towards them. In actuality, I want them to take maximum advantage of the priorities and privileges accorded to them by the Government and try to elevate themselves so high in social and academic field that they can proudly rub their shoulders with their brethrens of higher caste.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the revered and the last Messiah of the oppressed people of India in general and Dalits in particular and the Prime Architect of Indian Constitution had demanded ‘Reservation’ for Dalits only for ten years after Independence and then discontinue it; But the Congress Government with an ulterior motive to secure Dalit votes have continued this Policy to the date.

It’s quite unfortunate for the Dalits that after the demise of Dr. Ambedkar, they could never inherit any leader on par with the great soul like him.

I ask you, as what constructive, social, humanitarian or educative achievement has been procured for them by their existing coterie of leaders such as Ramdas Athavale, Prakash Ambekar, Namdev Dhasal, Kamblis or Khobragades?

I advise my Dalit friends to visit the houses or bungalows of these Dalit leaders and compare their lavish life-style with the hand-to-mouth existence of most of the Dalits. Is that the way these leaders serve their masses?

My only wish is that the Dalits should not rely on these people but try to elevate themselves in society. I myself would be the happiest man if caste-system would be totally eliminated in India. But then I know that this will never be possible in this country and would merely remain an idealistic or utopian dream!

As for the one who came out with a weird and flimsy argument comparing the Blacks Liberation 165 years ago to that of Dalits’s only 60 years ago, allow me to enlighten his reasoning organ that it was nearly 50 years since that Whites gradually started accepting them as their fellow American citizen. And pray; isn’t 60 years a long span in a man’s life?

I request this contender to find out for himself that it’s how many years since Dr. Martin Luther King, the leader of Blacks fighting for their rights, was assassinated by a member of the fanatical White skinned terrorist organization, Ku Klux Klan (K. K. K)?

I consider this post is concluded here and I have made myself clear in terms of facts. Jai Hind.

Hornet’s nest on earlier post, kind of understating it there. War zone was more like it. Reservations, bills etc, there are tons of them. People here have a solution for everything. There is no end to the amount of solutions available for the problems faced. Issue lies with the implementation, who should do it and how should it be done. Ironically it again boils down to whether there is a solution for that and the vicious cycle goes on. Reinventing the wheel, re-parenting, whatever.
So who ultimately makes the choice?

ok guys…I missed commenting on the previous post but is relevant for this one as well…here it goes…..from a national perspective, where else do we need reservation now. Let us attack the next level of society with reservation. The next superstar from Bollywood has to be a dalit. Whether his films are liked or not, he’s to be paid the highest salary. The film industry has very diverse background encompassing people from all religions. But probably there are no dalit superstars. So let us introduce reservations there. 50% of the lead roles have to go to dalits. Think about what will happen next? Do the same for sports – best example is cricket. Let us bring reservations there. What will happen next? Even with relatively fair (let’s not argue on north-south, east-west basis) competition for selection to the national team, our team sometimes fails badly. Will reservations help at this level. It is the national pride that is at stake. The answer is a clear NO. I am not against dalits, but for fair competition. You guys (i mean your forefathers) have suffered a lot because of division of the society. That division was losing prominence. Don’t bring back to the mainstream again. This will hurt the entire nation.

BTW, why this reservation for OBCs. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why the politicians are so-called ‘caring’ about them now after almost 60 years of Independence. It is not caring. It is business for them. They want votes in return at the expense of the entire country. Understand this simple theory. If the so-called ‘lower caste’ people call themselves ‘backward’, how can they ever be forward. The solution lies in being treated equally. The ‘upper caste’ people are not born with 2 heads, 4 eyes and 4 hands. People achieve milestones by hard work. When Dr. Ambedkar rose up against all odd to become a reputed lawyer without reservation, why do you guys need it now. Are you incompetent? We need 1000 more Dr. Ambedkars not reservation. Become competent and join the mainstream.
