Shootout At Virginia Tech University

At first I thought it was a joke. You don’t really think about gunmen coming on campus and shooting everybody but then it became very real, very quickly.

Depressing and equally scary.

Yup, this is very sad indeed. Courage to those who have suffered.

When the same thing happened with schools in the states, this band called P.O.D wrote this song called Youth of a nation. Amazing song, brilliant lyrics.

Excerpts from the lyrics:

Last day of the rest of my life I wish I would have known cause i’d have kissed my
momma goobye. I didn’t tell her that I loved her or how much I cared or thank my
pops for all the talks and all the wisdom he shared. Unaware I just did what I
always do. Everyday the same routine before I skate off to school but who knew
that
this day wasnt like the rest, instead of takin the test I took two to the chest.

…Guess that’s the way that the story goes, will it ever make sense somebody’s
gotta know, there’s gotta be more to life than this, there’s got to be more to everything I thought exists

Sad. Its also very difficult to implement gun control now… all the guns will go underground. Nobody is going to give back the guns if Dubya asks them – “Please be kind enough and give up your weapons”. If they implement gun controls now, the effect would be seen in 20 years or more …

>> instead of takin the test I took two to the chest.

Sumit, I always thought that it was “i took a tool in the chest” (maybe stabbing or something). Thanks for the excerpts. (It never occurred to me to websearch)

And its one amazing song… kids singing in the background. If you are in pune, i guess I know where you heard it first. :)
