Suchitra Krishnamurthy – a “one-hit†Bollywood actress, part-time pop singer & painter and now ex-Mrs. Shekhar Kapoor. The lady has been on-and-off news lately and not because of her talents but instead for her failed-marriage to one of Bollywood’s well-known director.
Now before our desi-media could even start to dig in the juicy gossip and make merry in their Page 3 section with detailed analysis of the break-up, Ms. Krishnamurthy did the job of presenting the masala platter herself. Apparently Suchitra, who also has been bitten by the blogging bug, wrote several slurring posts on her blog accusing a popular main-stream bollywood actress of having an affair with her now ex-husband director Shekhar Kapoor – often referring to the other woman as “maneaterâ€.
Obviously such provoking words, as expected, threw the media hounds in frenzy. And finally after three years since her separation, Suchitra comes clean about her depressing past, which stars none other than Hindi Film Industry’s top actress, Preity Zinta as the perfidious maneater.
Here is an excerpt from her interview with Mumbai’s time pass tabloid, Mid-Day.
Tell us about that ‘maneater’ you referred to in a poem on your blog, the one who came between you and Shekhar. Is it Preity Zinta?
What do you think?
I am not sure.
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
Preity said in a recent interview that you weren’t talking about her.
She can say what she wants. If she thinks it’s not her and that I am wrong, she should sue me. And I will be delighted. My best friends are lawyers. I am not scared.
I think that says it all.

And as expected, ‘feisty’ as she is popularly described as, Preity came out with her defensive side in today’s edition of Mumbai Mirror.
When informed that Suchitra had called her names the actress says, "It clearly shows that Suchitra is unstable and I wish her a speedy recovery."
"Preity was not even aware of this article because she is travelling and she got to know about Suchitra’s interview only when her business manager Tanuja Mehra informed her about it," says our source. People close to Preity expected that she would lambast Suchitra for slandering her without any proof. But it seems that Preity took it with a pinch of salt and decided to let it die its own death.
Now whether this alleged affair is nothing but figment of Suchitra’s paranoid imagination (as stated by Preity) or an actuality, the answer shall forever remain blurred, unless and until the man in center of the catfight aka. Shekhar himself decides to spill his side of the story.
No one really knows what really lies behind the scenes but from what is heard and read and a little through my intuitive mind, it seems that Shekhar Kapoor had abandoned his wife way before the arrival of Ms. Zinta in this sordid affair!.
But as is very evident it’s taken quite a drastic toll on Suchitra eventually throwing her off balance. The end result being, her lashing out publicly on well known actress Preity Zinta.
Now if this alleged affair did really take place than maybe venting the same anger towards her husband privately could prove a better option as washing dirty linen in public really makes no sense. Plus blaming the whole fault on the “other woman†isn’t quite right either, I mean clapping with one hand isn’t really possible and therefore Shekhar is equally to be blamed. Or in fact even more so.

Parveen Babi once blamed Bill Clinton, Amitabh Bachan, CIA, Mossad, KGB and a whole lot of individuals/organisations for conspiring to kill her.
As for Suchitra, she is just trying to get a hold on her non-existent career. Now that she is split from Shekhar Kapur, she doesnt have access to what she used to have earlier, so the usual shouting to get some attention.
…or mayabe as Priety Zinta says, she is sick and what she needs now is some medical attention.

Preity Zinta — If everything we hear is right, she has quite a reputation … going back all the way I believe to that time she was caught trying to make a few extra bucks at the age of 16 doing things her school teachers would not quite approve of.

She has got all the right to blame her; As far as venting anger is considered, doing that in public is also not that bad. Legally there is no punishment for breaking a marriage(for the alleged) or leaving one’s spouse (for Shekhar). Suchitra, who did not want the break-up to happen & is suffering because of it has got all the rights to punish whomsoever the reason is, if not legally at least publicly. Till when we are going to save such so called sultry sirens/ sexy babes / high maintenance / hourglass / picture perfect figures for ruining the life of others. Why don’t they find somebody who is unmarried?
Please don’t let go such people; let it be a girl or a guy. At least public image deterioration might make them realize of their fouling acts.

If it’s true, then good for her for telling it like it is. There’s no reason for her to hide in the shadows and go quietly into the night.
I’m suprised (if the quote is true) to see Preity Zinta stooping so low as to accuse Kapoor’s ex- of being mentally unstable. That’s something men often do to deflect attention from their own behaviour (“She’s crazy!”).
Actually, on the subject of slander, Suchitra should be in her own right to sue PZ for calling into question her mental health….

Filmholic : Well from what I have been told (by Bollywood insiders), Shekhar and Preity did have a fling but it happened before Shekhar’s marriage to Suchitra.
Suchitra seems to be very fragile mentaly…and maybe is looking to blame anyone else but herself for the break-up. Plus not to forget…she wants to make a come-back to Bollywood and such publicity…helps a long way.
Not that I think Preity is an innocent soul…but I think she is not to be blamed atleast in this case.

Just would like to know who these “Bollywood Insiders” are?. If we remember correctly this woman was pulled up in a casting couch scandal where she completely blasted everyone and led us to believe that she has risen up to this position by sheer hard work…not that I am disputing, she is talented and hardworking….but for females in this industry these two qualities are just not enough to get you up…
Maybe sakshi you can throw some insights on her journey to where she is today too?….

i think in all this i am inclined to beleive Suchitras version. just because preity is a famous film star dosent mean she can go around doing whatever she pleases for the sake of her career and get away with it. hats off to Suchita for having the guts to speak and standing her ground. Even though preity has spoken nonsense like suchitra is unstable and is using her name for publicity suchitra has replied with a cool and composed-preity can say what she likesand it makes no difeerence to her as she have spoken the truth. she must have suffered the lot to reach this level of composure

Thanks to Preity, because of her, SHEKHAR KAPUR’s REAL FACE can now be seen clearly. If she wouldnot have slept with him then someone else would have, we cannot just blame Priety for that, SHEKHAR IS DUMB SILENT PERSON BUT INSIDE HE IS A WILD DOG when alone in company with young successful women. Suchitra is a big ediot, by leaving Shekhar she proved that she truly loved him and didnot marry him for money. Even our mothers have been such ediots, but just becos of kids and need of financial support they kept quiet, but time is changing. If I would be in place of Suchitra I dont give a damn about what Shekhar does with other womens. I would had as many affairs and as well enjoyed Shekar’s money. Whats most horrifying is that these filmy sluts never have it enough. People really ought to know the real Preity zINTA. Insecure, adamant, hard headed, selfish, individualistic sl*t is what she is. And most imp she loves no one but herself. She loves branded products, to travel in exotic locaitons and buy the best clothes and for that she can do anything, just anything. break a house (aka Suchitra’s home), break a heart (she jumped all over Yuvi and then when she felt he isnt enuff for her gave a press release saying he is like a bro, yeah right the things she did with him!!). She is a dangerous woman. Much like the Fedora movie she will destroy herself some day.

Preity goes around saying publicly she will not date a married man, she will not date a cricketer, she will not date an actor blah blah and at the first opportunity she does just that. Hanging out with them, hand in hand, just the two, eating out at restaurants, wearing a bouse less sari and clinging to the man again hand in hand, goign out on cruises with him just the two of them….what does all this qualify as? Innocent, pure fun? Look at the internet splattered with pics of Preity and Yuvraj where she climbs on him, hugs and kises him so passionately and literally adores his machoism and then she goes and refutes it easily and says he is like a brother. What a pervert!!
