Apparently the ever-so-united family of Bollywood and not to forget our main stream media can’t seem to get enough of Kareen Kapoor’s one word comment on model-turned-actor John Abraham. Now those who live outside the Bollywood lane, here is a brief re-cap.
On last weeks Koffee with Karan, bitchy Ms. Kapoor was asked to name an actor she wouldn’t like working with to which a little hesitantly she replied John Abraham. Then in the most popular segment of the show, the rapid fire round - apna Karan baby coyly asked her to blurt her opinion on (no guessing here) John Abraham, with twisted nose and a yucky facial expression - she stamped him as “expressionless”. That’s it!
No abuses, no bitching, no aggression just an opinion. Frankly speaking I was very disappointed with Bebo’s participation in the episode. Going by the lady’s reputation for speaking her mind without any convenient cuts, I was expecting a few bazookas and grenade bombs to go off but instead all we got was those little patakedi ladis.
While people are gushing over her John Abraham remark, it’s surprising that they missed to notice not so favorable comments on Bachchan family’s hone wali bahu, Aishwarya Rai. First she ridiculed Aish’s choice of blue color boots and then claiming to have done a better job in Dhoom 2 if placed in Aish’s boot aka. Aish’s sexy avatar. Well I guess we can understand her not being too fond of Ex Miss World afterall her dearest didi (Karisma Kapoor) was once engaged to Aish’s now beau.
But getting back to her comment on Mr. Abraham, I can’t help but agree with her. Yaar, you really need to watch some good desi-films inorder to understand that this man simply can’t act.
Fine, I will admit he does look good (but only to a certain extent, Arjun Rampal is more my kind-da good looking fella), has a decent body (wont call it great cause he lacks the whole 6 biscuits packet) and yes he has improved a lot from the time he began his journey with semi-porn flick Jism. However he still needs to walk many more miles i.e. all the way to Timbuktu to even be called an actor, if you take into account its precise meaning.
More than his facial talent, I think he has been very lucky with picking the right films. For instance in Jism, people drooled over dusky Bipasha and John got a decent break. Dhoom 1, everyone only noticed the bikes and scantly cladded Esha Deol and John for some weird reasons was given the Best Bad Guy award. Film Kaal though it flopped but since everyone init acted miserably and John was 2 on 5 on the scale of bad performance so therefore he was most appreciated. In Taxi 9 2 11, well this is simple only the most patient man would prefer non-stop babblings of Nana Patekar. Kabul Express, hmmmm…was he even there. Water, not seen it so can’t comment.
So while the likes of Anurag Kashyap, Deepa Mehta, Bipasha Basu and Sudhir Mishra continue to make statements defending expressionless John, I say its better that he proves himself with his work and do the do.
On second thoughts, he just might have a few facial capabilities credited to himself. I can think of two - 1. See I am as pretty and Preity cause we have matching dimples. 2. During an emotional scene I prefer to stay constipated.
Here are a few of his pictures…..let me know if you agree or disagree with the Kapoor lass.
Ps….This post is entirely based on my thoughts on Mr. John Abraham and has nothing to do with the fact that I am Sallu baba fan and/or friends with one of John’s exes.
Also check out the video where Kareena imparts her gyaan on Bipasha’s man.

Shetty’s participation in the UK reality show Big Brother “has brought to public debate key issues about racism in Britain today.” Sakshi watched Bebo’s interview on The Coffee with Karan and found her stating an obvious truth about John. She presentsExpressionless John Abrahamposted at To Each Its Own, saying, “while the likes of Anurag Kashyap, Deepa Mehta, Bipasha Basu and Sudhir Mishra continue to make statements defending expressionless John, I say its better that he proves himself with his work and do the do”
