God and Sex : A Volatile Mixture
Okay, I agree the title sounds some-what dubious so let me start by being a little clearer.
I do believe in God. Not any specific ones but more in the notion that there is someone above who is watching and working in mysterious ways (as they say).
And then there are those who think differently which I am not saying is a bad thing considering the whole Freedom and Rights garb that gets thrown around every now so often.
However when you mix two strong topics like God and Sex, you usually land up with nothing but a volatile situation.
For a perfect example, read this and then this.
In my opinion it is kind-da screwed up (pun unintended) catch 22 situation. I mean bhagwan ke naam pe karo toh musibat aur bhagwan ki waat laga ke karo toh bhi musibat.
But I guess the situation gets even dicier when it comes to desi-women – the doing ones and the not doing ones, both included. In the sense if you have a woman who is doing the “it†thingy before marriage and a life-long commitment then this very society (including non-believers) doesn’t even think twice before labeling her as a slut, whore, characterless and what not.
On the other hand, the so called liberal minded folks for some reason find it hard to digest the fact that there are many 21st century women who are very much at ease with “not†loosing their virginity before walking down the aisle. But no way Hose, these people rather than giving her benefit of doubt instead declare her as being ‘goodie two shoes’ and pretentious.
So whats the bottom line of all this?
I will say, believe in whatever you want and do it as and when you want because either this way or that way we will always be on the wrong side of someone’s turf. * And getting puked at only means that you are on the right path.
*This line is meant for certain someone. So all others kindly ignore it…if it don’t make sense to ya. Thank You.

We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is 'decency' but to let them get to you is 'weakness'.

Well said about the Desi women getting the flak if she steps outside the social norms
I will keep my rantings aside and say, each side needs tolerate the other as being not only OK but a valid alternative option and to discuss both to people who come asking for opinion. The point is that soceity’s health is more important than either side’s belief.
