See, this is what I can’t understand. Why do self-proclaimed non-fans of SRK always talk more obsessively about him than we SRK fans do? We appreciate the fact that you guys/gals can’t get him out of your system though. Cheers~

Ok. I have been watching KBC for the past few days, and I am willing to fight it out with anybody who says that SRK is not doing a good job. I have watched several of the previous KBC shows when AB was there; I have watched Who wants to be a millionaire as well. And SRK is easily the best host I have seen…probably because he is closer in age to me as compared to the other hosts. The contestants also seem happier and comfortable as compared to the contestants when AB was there. Btw, I am not a fan of SRK and I truly hate some of his movies…maybe that was the reason I like it: my expectations were not that high.

Utsa – I will still repeat the same, To Each Its Own.

Maria – Hey! Lady…Whats up!! Long time no see. Well I guess you are right, SRK is good for kids and (some) ladies but then again how long can you bare up with such acts. Will repeat once again, KBC is a show that requires class and not comedy. SRK would be great for Bollywood quiz shows or Koffee with Karan types….but no way here.

But maybe he will learn his lesson with time but I don’t think I will be bothering to watch the show again.

Hey Sakshi,

Happy New Year, my dear! I agree with you, he was stretching quite a bit, wasn’t he, and yes, his diction was like him making fun of a TV announcer at times.

I could see, though, how he might appeal more to women and kids. He is very likeable, his jokes are not mean or harmful, and many people find him handsome, whereas I guess some folks might have been in awe sitting across from all 6 foot + and booming basso profundo of Amitabh (who I really, really miss).

I’ll keep watching, just to see how SRK does, and also cos I like the questions (though trying to remember what a lakh is and calculate it into dollars is a bit taxing for the mathematically challenged like me), and maybe SRK will tone it down.

One thing I had been enjoying were the ads on TV promoting the show, the ones with the precocious little boy (supposedly the young SRK). I think it’s the first time I’ve seen an Indian TV ad make unmistable reference to someone passing wind!

I was so appalled when I saw him giving that massage! I mean what the hell was he doing?
I feel he is trying tooooo hard to win over his audience and trying to imitate Amitabh’s style and mannerisms!

Sakshi & the others: I will again, go out on a limb with you on this!Although, I have not watched a single episode of KBC to date, not when it was previously hosted by Amitabh Bachchan or the new series with SRK as the new host. But, I would also like to think just like Suyog indicated above that perhaps it is a little early for you to be forming an opinion of Shahrukh as the new host. Although, you say that you’re not an Amitabh fan nor a SRK fan but it makes me think that you are quite biased towards Mr bachchan and Im sure you’re not the only one. Though, I admire Amitabh Bachchan as an actor completely and have absolutely nothing against him. I hate to see the repeated comparisons being made btw Shahrukh and him for whatever reasons.
Somehow I don’t think you’ve sounded ‘neutral’ in the above post of yours:)
