While Sydney Zoo relishes its moments with a pair of white lion cubs, a rare breed sent from Mogo Zoo (on the NSW south coast) as part of a tourism promotion?.
There are some who are not so fortunate.
In Ethiopia, Abyssinian lion cubs are reportedly being poisoned because zoo staff can’t afford to keep them.
The dead cubs are sold to taxidermists for $US170 ($220) each to be stuffed and sold as ornaments.
Wildlife experts estimate that only 1000 Ethiopian lions, which are smaller than other lions, remain in the wild.
Depressing, very depressing indeed.

I personally love White Lions, they are my favorite animals, I’ve heard they are really tame. They are, unlike other cat breeds, only made of one breed, the lion. I would love to have one but I’m sure they would cost a lot. I would keep it outside until winter, then I would put it in a room in my basement. My landlord doesn’t want us to have cats, but we can have anything else, even pigs. I want a white lion.
