“Sakshi you have no idea what this boy has gone through. People like us would have turned the world up side down had it happened to us.”
These were the very words said to me by Dr. Sunita Patel while she bandaged Spike’s bruised leg. It’s been over week now since Spike’s unfortunate accident and my baby continues to bear the pain with a brave heart.
Besides being little fussy over the food being served to him, he has been very easy to handle. Not to forget the extra-attention he is been getting from the family members and guests.
The good news is that the nerve paralysis he suffered is thankfully only temporary and he shall be able to walk (just as before) once the fracture is healed. But the fracture is not a regular one; the bone of his front right leg is broken and therefore would require a metal-plating surgery.
After couple of consultations with the surgeon and Dr. Sunita, many visits to the X-ray center and required blood tests, finally the D-day has been fixed for tomorrow.
The surgery is expected to go on for around 2 hours or so and would involve joining up of the broken bone and placing the metal plate around and then tightening it up with metal screws for extra-support. It would take further 15 days for the surgery wound to heal and then Spike would require couple of Physio Therapy sessions.
At present all of this sounds just way to exhausting and further extension to a patience playing game but as long as the final result is positive, it’s all worth it.
