So Australia effortlessly battered India out of the Champions Trophy. The reasons weren’t any we are not familiar with, as always the batting collapsed when needed to fire up and the bowlers were left with looking at their deliveries being whacked left, right and center.
The loss wasn’t all that disappointing since our players at getting so consistent at it but yes, it is a bit depressing to see one loose so miserably.
On the positive side, we would hopefully be seeing less of those ‘Hoo Haa’ Pepsi Ads and thereby saving ourselves from those un-wanted headaches.
However with regards to yesterday’s match, I sincerely feel that our Indian Team was jinxed by none other than the Ex-Miss World of India – Ashwariya Rai.
She was present as a special guest on Sony’s Extraa Innings show and also did her bit on promoting her forthcoming movie, Dhoom 2.
Bhai Boss! Logic simple hai, jab bade bade aadmi nahi tik paaye enke pass toh humari Indian Team toh badee door ki baat hai na.

I hated that ad featuring “Saahruk” khan. Such an emotive, hamming and overacting jerk. I wonder what’s the point of making viewers so emotional over a game. First such ads raise hopes, which sooner or later are dashed to the ground.
The Saurav Ganguly ad talking about his dropping from the team was just ok. But then, I wonder why everyone thinks he was made out to be a scapegoat. I think dropping him was quite justified. Ok, he is a great player and all that, but not even a half century for over 2 years (or maybe one year). Even the terribly inconsistent Sehwag makes a good score once in 2 months. Saurav was really underperforming for a long time.
I must add though, that Saurav is India’s best captain in recent times. No one can match his aggression and confidence on the field. Dravid… naahh… With Saurav on the field, we always felt that the match could turn in our favour.

Well said Sakshi. Don’t know what’s more painful to watch… Indians losing miserably or watching a teary hamming SRK constipating ‘hoo haa India’…
What an ad! it’s only when Shreyas Talpade says it, you feel something… you feel like reaching out to Shreyas and telling him “Don’t let them con you into this.. run, run before you get swallowed into it!”

Jeev Milkha Singh who has won the Volvo Masters in Spain has the
following to say on the final day’s play: (TNN)
I have stopped putting pressure on myself. If human beings get result
oriented, it’s sure to lead them into pressure. I have realised that
and now I am just enjoying my game without thinking about the results.
I am focusing more on routine and the process of what will help me
suceed……
Maybe he doesn’t feel the pressure ’cause of the absence of pressure by us supporters. It’s time we stopped expecting too much from our cricketers. Let them play without the burden of our expectations. Let’s admit this: we r part of the problem!!

Watching that painful Shahrukh ad was real painful, especially that he gets paid crores to irritate you. The only thing worse was the Saurav Ganguly ad, after what all has happened to him, how could he do such an ad. Can money make a man do anything, does he have no self-respect.
Anyhow, when the performance was so bad, how could you expect the team to beat a team that was playing better.
Spare a thought to Nimbus that has paid huge sums for broadcasting cricket, and is not able to recoup its investments.
