Filmiholic goes MSM
Many MSM people turn to blogging on the side is known news. But some bloggers manage to get-into MSM thanks to their awesome blogging capability, is simply commendable.
And here is one such example.
My favorite Bollywood Blogger, Filmiholic has got her very first piece posted up on Rediff Site. She managed to get an interview with Shibani Bhatija; scriptwriter of recent films likes Fanna and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Kajol is very spontaneous and could be pulling somebody’s hair before the shot,” said Shibani Bhatija, who wrote the script for the Aamir Khan-Kajol starrer Fanaa and co-wrote director Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. “Then the shot’s called and she’s crying in a minute; whereas Aamir works himself into things gradually.”Bhatija was speaking at an event hosted by the South Asian American Films and Art Association at the Arts India Gallery in Manhattan, New York, October 7, when she shared these tidbits with an audience of about 25 people. She was in New York after a tour to meet students of South Asian descent at Stanford, the University of California, and the Boston-Cambridge area, as part of research for a story.

Let’s hope that many more such credible bloggers enter the MSM so that we can finally get over the pathetic TOI (let) journalism.
We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is 'decency' but to let them get to you is 'weakness'.

Ohh so its shibani bathija who is responsible for that double torture …
damn.. even when I dont want to watch the movie, I am bombarded with the ugly movie trailers and songs playing everywhere, and tarnishing almost all movie channels, even my fav news channels.

filmiholic’s story was very good. but dont u think it’s unfair to say that journalism needs bloggers to set it right? there are some nice writers in journalism too. not everybody can be equated with TOI writers.

Shadows - Well I might disagree with you on this. The thing is though the movies didnt go that well with the audience (especially KANK)….I thought the script were not bad at all. See the way the film turns out…relies mostly on the director and to certain extent the actors. It’s all about the execution.
Nandhu - I don’t think I am being un-fair. Seriously, just look at the news channels…newspaper..nearly 80% is just rubbish. Though I do agree there are some worthy journalists out-there…but they are simply out-numbered.

“MSM” takes content from anyone who has good content, and MSM doesn’t care if you are a blogger. You make the divide sound like India-Pakistan!

Shivam - Sorry…if I made it sound to severe. The fact is…over the past couple of months the MSM has appreaciated the Blogger (per say)’s credibility and therefore today they don’t mind using it for their purpose.
In a way…now they have some one watching their arse so to speak. But still as a blogging community we still have a long way to go.

I wonder if at all there is a blogging ‘community’. Did Filmiholic approach Rediff or the other way round? And a writer’s ‘credibility’ is his/her copy, not his/her blog!

Shivam - If there isn’t a Blogging Community then how would you define the IIPM blog war and the recent collective action by bloggers against the banning of blogs in India?
We maybe not officially registered as a group or whatever but we surely do exist.
As for filmiholic, Rediff approached her.
Obviously an individual’s blog will be appreciate d only if their writing is good and creditable. And I highly doubt that a person who writes well, will maintain a crappy blog.

Oh, if Rediff approached her then that’s cool. But I still won’t put it in MSM-vs-BM terms - some of us overdo it. I hope you understand

Ahh well, while I did not watch either of the movies, most of the friends said “Bakwaas… mat dekhna”. KANK might be watchable, but Fanaa ? Naah,, not much interested in terrorist love stories.
