Every second television channel flashes Pepsi’s Blue Billion campaign, all in the preparation of the un-coming Champions Trophy. One can understand the excitement and the buzz the campaign’s leading song, “Oooh Aaah India, Aaah Yaaa India” creates since the series would be held in our very own backyard. The song does ignite the whole patriotic atmosphere (to a certain extent) with it’s focus on different people belong to different religions, gender, age group, social standing – all together, cheering for one goal, the united Indian cricket team.
No to forget, all our Blue lads (barring Sehwag, is believes in Coke) walking together with that sincere look and intensity on the faces – on second thoughts, one can only imagine the amount of moolah these guys must have pocketed for this 30 seconds effort.
But frankly, do we really believe in our Men in Blue?
No. Atleast I don’t. Not especially after the manner in which we practically gifted the Australian team a victory during the recently held Tri Nation DLF Cup held in Malaysia.
I am an Indian, I love my Bollywood and I love my cricket but I also love myself. And I cannot see myself go thru another misery, all thanks to the inconsistency, consistently shown by our cricket team.
So this time round I shall be rooting for another. And here are my top three favorites.
and
You can call me a traitor, desh-drohi or whatever else you may be choose but for someone like myself who has given countless university hours, un-imaginable office hours and countless sleepless nights to the Indian cricket team, another failure could be very devastating.
And then the Pepsi song would sound like this, “Oooh Aaah (ouch) India, Aaah Aur Gaaya India”.

I understand what you went through after India did not perform well, but my dear that is what being a fan means; that is the thrill of the game. With Sachin back in the game and after Sehwag performed so well today in India, I am very optimistic. Although I am a Pakistani who is living in the US, I love India. My family migrated to Pakistan in 1950 and I was born in Pakistan but my favorite team is the present Indian team. I love everything about India.
So, my friend, keep your hopes up and don’t stop following the great game of cricket.
