Touch Down NYC

So finally after nearly 24 hours journey across continent I have touched base in New York City.

Not that I am complaining British Airways is absolutely amazing but I guess everything is fantastic if you get to park your butt in the Business Class section. Na, seriously the flight and the staff were fabulous however the only thing that ruined my journey was the extra long haul at London airport due to technical problem with the aircraft. Then again as they say, ‘its better to be safe than sorry’, so can’t really crib over it much.

Then once we land at JFK airport at 12.30 am, there was apparently a long queue, so again 20 minutes wasted there in search of a free terminal. After that everything went smoothly though my mental state was a bit zombie like.

Contrary to what I had been informed, the immigration staff was pretty nice and soft spoken, cleared everything without a zilch.

Then finally stepped out, searching for my best friend and her hubby and those two seemed to be so engrossed in their conversation that they didn’t even see me pass in front of them; now talk about friendship.

And then best bit is when my best friend realized me that I was standing in front of her the only words that she could come up with was, “What are you doing here?”

Anyways we settled in by 2.30 am, after all the gifts giving-taking procedure was over.

Got up at 9.00 am, had a big jugga of Milo and now all set to explore New York City. First destination…none other than Manhattan but before than a stomach-packing pizza lunch at Lazzro.

Yes…let the holidays begin.

Welcome to America!

uhm… words such as “best friend” are so 1985 FY kind I. Terms such as friendship and loyalty have been trademarked by the Lifetime channel. Wait till you see the desi camaraderie. As they say, ignorance is bliss.

Prope//er – Well it’s sad that you think the word ‘Best Friend’ is outdated…then I guess in your world so would be the words ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’…but according to me it still holds a very deep meaning and value. And as for Loyalty…You need to be one yourself inorder to epxpevt it from others.

Haridas – Well thats true, boss !

Utsa – Will surely do. :)

Pratyush – Thanks.

Sakshi,
According to PROPE//ER you should have used slangs like best – buddy, chum, pal, mate, dude/dudette, amigo, bro/sis, etc for your best friend. When in US speak like an American.

An 8/11 averted probably?
hmm..is there any pattern w.r.t. dates….7/11 (mumbai), 9/11 (NY+DC), 7/7 (london, 7 being the number of sins) 3/11(spain).
btw, sakshi, heard they are closing statue of liberty for visitors? if true, hard luck.

Peace Prope//er. I was just joking.
I read that the British Police have rounded up about 40 people of ‘South Asian’ origin in raids at High Wycombe , London and Birmingham.

Prope//er,
I was being sarcastic because our neighbour will be awarded handsomely for their help in the so called war on terror. Hence the stress on ‘South Asian’ .
