Masturbate-a-thon

Now I have heard off and also taken part in Running Marathons or Movie Marathons and I am also familiar with the concept of Masturbation (Oh! For screaming out loud, stop thinking dirrty.) But the mixture of the two is quite unbelievable.

Hundreds of Britons are being urged to attend what is being branded as Europe’s first “Masturbate-a-thon”, a leading reproductive healthcare charity said on Friday.

Marie Stopes International, which is hosting the event with HIV/AIDS charity the Terrence Higgins Trust, said it expected up to 200 people to attend the sponsored masturbation session in Clerkenwell, central London, on Saturday.

“It is a bit of a publicity stunt but we hope it will raise awareness,” a Marie Stopes spokeswoman told Reuters.

“We want to get people talking about safer sex, masturbation and to lift taboos.”

Participants, who have to be over 18, can bring any aids they need and can take part in four different rooms — a comfort area, a mixed area, along with men and women only areas.

And excuse me, no hanky-panky stuff allowed.

However, the rules on the event’s Web site states there can be no touching of other participants nor are people allowed to fake orgasms.

I guess all’s welcome for a good cause. Hope they all leave with something more than besides being physically enlightened.

On the other hand Goa government seems to be closing down on a sensible move, a definite action that needs to be followed by other states as well.

The Goa government will discuss at the next meeting of the state Cabinet the issue of legislation on mandatory HIV tests before marriage, officials said on Friday.

“There are diverse opinions on the issue. A few find that the test should be mandatory while others say it should be voluntary. It is for the Cabinet now to take the final decision,” said state Health Secretary UK Wohra.

Public hearings on this issue were held in both districts — north and south. “We will assess the public opinion before deciding on the issue. We have got the trend about general opinion on the issue,” Wohra said.

In my opinion they should be making it mandatory, just like filing for marriage certificate. I mean, we do infact still have a higher percentage of Arranged Marriages therefore it is a must. If we can go about enquiring with regards to guy/girl’s financial, educational, family backgrounds then why leave this one out.

Gone are the days when sex before marriage was considered a ‘No-No’ act, but today most of us are doing it. So I think if applied it would be best for both the sexes and just not the women.
