There are times when we wake up one morning with urge to drink Milo instead of coffee or just spend an evening at the beach or vaada pav from a road-side stall instead of having your regular home-cooked lunch.
What I am getting at is that we all have days in our lives where our urges completely take control of our senses and emotions (okay now please refrain from having any dirty thoughts). The day can become rather un-settling if we do not act on our desired urge.
For me yesterday was exactly that. I had heard a song on the local FM by a Pakistani band named The Call couple of weeks back. And I spent most of my Sunday visiting Music Shops to but their CD just because I wanted to hear that same very song. I mean I just had to hear it. Finally after waking my head at 6 different music stores, I was lucky enough to pick up their album titled Jilawatan.
The song I was longing for is called ‘Sab Bhula Kai’ and it’s sung by Zulfiqar. J. Khan. Besides having beautiful and soulful lyrics, the music itself is mind-blowing. It would fall under the genre of ‘Soft-Rock’ and for many it would be something of a mix between The Scorpions or Def Leppard.
But I feel more then anything else it’s the lead singer Zulfiqar’s husky voice that actually gives the song a whole new dimension. I mean seriously it’s like you can actually feel the emotions yourself thru his voice.
After ages have I heard something this good. Here is the lyrics of the song and was lucky enough to locate its Music Video as well (YouTube ki Jai ho!).
Sab Bhula Kai by The Call
Teri khamoshion mein woh baatein hain chupee
Mujh kau choo laitee hein woh har aah jau yun niklee
Namee jau aankhon mein thee
Khulee woh baatein sabhee
.
Sab bhula kai phir bhee chala mein
Duniya kee rasmein bhula kai
Mujh kau jau himmat milee
Meri dil mein barhtee rahee
.
Mein bhee in aansoon mein dooba hoon kitney din
Khud sai keh sakoon ga jiya hoon teray bin
Khushee jau baaton mein thee
Khulee woh baatein sabhee
.
Sab bhula kai phir bhee chala mein
Duniya kee Rasmein bhula kai
Mujh kau jau himmat milee
Meri dil mein barhtee rahee
.
Namee jau aankhon mein thee
Namee jau aankhon mein thee
Khulee woh baatein sabhee
.
Sab bhula kai……
Sab bhula kai…..phir bhee chala mein [Link]

I know exactly what you mean, Sakx. But honestly, for me EVERY day is like that. And I somehow manage to live it, too.
Good for you that you managed to ‘get it’, too.
P.S: It’s Def Leppard.

Harsh – Oppsy ! Sometimes the spell check can screw spellings up. As for having urges everyday…thankfully I don’t get attacked by them very often.

Did you try Def Leppards new album.. its called Yeah , I think. They are not as good as they used to be till Euphoria album, but a few tracks on Yeah are good.
BTW, I find most Paki bands repititive and boring. They all seem like Strings clones. Junoon had some originality, but sadly they broke up. And finally, some of the tracks might sound good, but Rock and Urdu dont gel. There is not one band till now who can prove otherwise. Agni did try mixing heavy rock with Hindi but it did not work. I have hopes from this new band called Vertigo (based in either mumbai or pune), who seem to have done a good job. I heard one of their sample tracks in a pub.

>>> Hey, this is Zulfiqar, i am the co composer/lead guitarist for the band CALL,
So, can you produce some better stuff. All Indian subcontinent bands sound the same. Well, almost the same.
