Affected by News

Here is a list of recent activities that have taken place off-late. Some for valid and some for not-so-valid reasons found their way in our daily newspapers.

I’m not a drug addict: Rahul Mahajan

Just after his release on bail from Delhi prison, Mr. Rahul Mahajan held a press conference. When enquired by reporters, this is what the man-of-the hour said, “I am not drug dependent or a user. I have not committed anything illegal or any wrongdoing.” I sincerely feel that he is telling the truth. No, I really do believe him….come on STOP laughing, I really do believe in his innocence.

In my opinion, one of those ‘height’ jokes needs to be re-written to in-corporate Mr. Mahajan, here. Maybe something like this, ‘What is the height of Honesty?’ answers?Rahul Mahajan. Why you may ask? Well because he said this, “I apologize to my mother, sister, Munde uncle and all other relatives to whom I have caused pain and anguish,” he said, also remarking, “I will suffer for my deeds.”

Now tell me, don’t you believe him too? Nahhhhhhh

Rakhi Sawant takes Mika complaint to NCW

Now frankly speaking, I thought that the whole Mika-smooch-Rakhi episode will be sorted out in a couple of days but it seems like our desi item girl is taking things quite seriously. First she filed a police complaint, asked for public apology by the singer and now has approached the NCW to help her cause.

She said, “I need justice… I need to set an example that women cannot be taken for granted,” when asked about her actions against the Pop-Singer Mika.

Who would have thought that we would actually be seeing a day where someone like Ms. Sawant would talk and fight over the ‘plight of Indian naari and her values’.

I AM: Mahesh Bhatt

Mahesh Bhatt is a genius. Here is one man who has an opinion on everything under the sun and moon. And for this he along with Rahul Mahajan, needs one of the ‘height’ jokes to be dedicated after him.

What is the Height of Modesty? Mahesh Bhatt, but naturally. Why? Because he said this,

A couple of days ago, when there was a shoot-out outside my office, contrary to the emotions of terror that the world was trying to impose on me, there was not a trace of fear in me.

If I am going to be targeted for what I am doing then so be it, I am not going to get frightened. I feel there is an awesome power within me, an overwhelming passion for life and an abundance of energy to go on.

Don’t know why but I have strong feeling that the whole shoot-out was a planned tactic by the Bhatt camp?nah not for movie-publicity. This whole act was done to get back at Feroz Khan who recently attracted good-limelight from the Indian public after his drunken-outburst in Pakistan.

A bit from the World Cup

England vs. Trinidad & Tobago

Now me no bigge expert on football but I thought that T&T did an awesome job by keeping all so-mighty England team from making a single goal for the first half of the game.

With just a little luck on their side T&T could have easily made the first goal had Stern John not missed his aim. Though England won but surely they have loads to work on if they really want to come close to even smelling the World Cup.

Brazil vs. Australia

Brazil the most favored team to win the world cup had to literally slog their butt off to get thru Australia which is currently ranked at No. 42. The Australians till the very end of the match did not seem to be fazed out by opponents.

I really hope to see them, the Australian thru to the next round.

Regarding Australia, they have been beaten by Brazil 2-0, with a wonderful goal from Adriano.

And I have seen Australia play, I think they dont play fair. Neither in cricket nor football. They play too rough, they seem to be targetting the players legs rather than the ball.

An aussie was really lucky to get away without a yellow or red card when he injured Ronaldo, and it was a full blown sliding kick above Ronaldos ankles. It did seem very intentional on TV.

Remember Japans complaint after aussies injured three of their players in their match.

It seems like African teams like Ivory Coast are like angels compared to Aussies (African teams are known for rough play).

I think its Portugal who is the dark horse in this tournament. But never know, anything can happen. Germany defeated Poland 1-0 through a last minute goal, seconds away from the final whistle.

Shadows, The Aussie strategy didn’t make for very pleasant viewing vs Brazil but that was the best strategy for them and so you can’t blame them for playing that way.

On unfairness – it is very common for any team to resort to defense and every thing which can go with it when they don’t want to concede goals. So I don’t know why you bring fairplay into the picture.

On cricket – you will find that all teams sledge and play it rough to an extent and not just the Aussies.

Pratyush, hmmm yep, you are right. But then there is a limit to rough playing. That was their best bet against Brazil, to become defensive and play a bit on the rough side. BTW, I dont see any reason for the aussies to do the same against Japan. Japan aint any Brazil.

Anyway, Aussies are up against Croatia next, and either of these two teams will make it to the next round. Aussies need to draw or win against Croatia, while Croatia has to win this to get through. The odds favour Croatia. And as usual, Japan might get creamed by Brazil.

What do you guys (and gals) think of Portugal. They are playing well, and their coach is Scolari, the Brazil coach during Japan-Korea 2002. And yes, Argentina is playing really well.

My probable last 4 are Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and England.

>>it is very common for any team to resort to defense and every thing which can go with it when they don’t want to concede goals.

Being defensive does not mean playing rough.
But then Aussies were lucky to not get any red cards.

Yes , all cricketers do some sledging, but aussies do it just too much.

Shadows, Australia did win against Japan. So the strategy worked for them in that game. ;)

Yeah, because of that, Aussies arent really a joy to watch on the field, their game seems dull and dour. Neither would they then allow the opposing team to play.

Even fast and pattern playing English are much more watchable than the aussies.

Sakshi, do you believe that Hawildar More was right in raping the girl at Marine Drive ? More just got excited at her skimpy clothes and couldn’t control her carnal desire.
If you don’t buy the above logic then what’s wrong with Rakhi Sawant talking about values. There is a big market for raunchy videos and all she does is exposing her body and making a fortune out of it.We might agree to disgree whether this is right or wrong but till now none of her videos have met the scissors from censor board. But being in this proffession doesnot mean that any goddam fella has the right to smooch her or lay her in the bed.I wonder what would have happened if something similar would have happened with Sharon Stone or Pamela Anderson.

Chlla Bong – Frankly I have nothing against Rakhi Sawant, per say. What she does..is frankly her choice and we are no one to judge her. But a women…who openly wears her sexuality and as you said sells and exploits her assets for her benefits, makes it really hard for herself to gain any public sympathay…when she talkes about Women Rights and Values.

There is a fine line between cheap and classy. And we both know where Ms. Sawant falls.

But in regards to the case, I think she is doing the right thing by teaching Mika Singh that he cannot treat anyone…anyway he wishes.

Lets see what the coming weeks bring on…
