Size does not Matter

Keep your paws off my turf – Jack the cat

Jack is one heck of a territorial cat. A fact initially known only by his owners and their neighbors. But after the Black bear incident, surely the word must have spread in the Animal Kingdom as well.

Ms Donna Dickey said Jack liked to keep a close watch on his territory and often chased away small animals, but one of big size was a first.

The bear was first spotted in the tree by neighbors who thought the 15lb (7kg) cat was just looking up at it.

They then realized the bear was afraid of the cat.

After some 15 minutes, the bear descended, but was chased up another tree, before finally making its escape when Jack was called indoors.

This little furry pet is perfect example of a thought, ‘Size does not matter’. Simply out-standing!!

On the other end, here is a heart-warming local news.

Never say Die – Chhota the wonder doggie

Chhotu, a dog born without forelegs has defied all odds. Inspite of being advised by several vets for mercy killing, Bahena (the welfare organization) did not give up on Chhotu (when he was a pup) nor did they let him give up on himself.

And just yesterday Chhotu celebrated his 2nd birthday.

Borivli’s Dr Mukesh Doshi, designed special prosthetic limbs with wheels for Chhotu. Visariya said, “Chhotu’s limbs would cost barely Rs 1,000, but Dr Doshi did it for free”.

In 2005, another stray dog was found without forelegs. She was named Chhoti, and till today the two live together with prosthetic limbs.

Just one of the many reasons why I love this city and its creatures.
