(some) People have a very annoying habit of forcing nick-names on others. At first it’s cute, and then it’s funny, after a little while it’s amusing, further persistence makes it annoying and finally it starts to get on your nerves.
I have gone thru many knickers nick-names for example – Shakshi, Saku bai, Shaksu, Sakxi (my favorite), feminist, fem bitch, feminazi and the list goes on and on.
All of the above and some more are tolerable. Na, seriously I can handle all of them with pride and a little dash of self humor.
But hey! Me not a saint here and just the way Superman with all his power still had one weakness; I have mine too.
Sakshi cannot stand the word, ‘Auntie’ when it’s used as a reference to her. And especially when used by a little pesky rodent from the SIFish community.
And finally someone has cared to throw some light on this situation.
Huzaifa writes in his latest post on DC:
Sakshi’s had some very interesting experiences over the past few months regarding her blog. Add to that the constant SIF attention, she is now thinking of renaming her blog to ‘Auntie mat kaho naa…’
Though I highly doubt that I will resort to such a step, but now I am seriously thinking of buying out exclusive rights for the words ‘Aunty’ and ‘Auntie’.
What say?

I used to think that the “Aunty” phenomenon is limited to India. But in Singapore, the term is even more widely used. It has a slightly different implication, though. Here, “Aunty” implies a woman who’s married and has given birth.
So thank your stars, Sakxi, that you are not here.
P.S: I like the ‘knickers’ touch.

Well, maybe they call you by this name not just to tease you. Maybe it’s a hint, and a disguised threat?
I just have a three word advice for you:
Get Married Soon.
Now kill me!
