The chicken and the road

Well I can’t say whether it was my good luck or not, but I guess it all turned out well in the end. Got home around 9.00, last evening after attending the Mumbai Bloogers Meet. The material on this evening was already thought off, while stuck in the traffic – took me 25 minutes to drive down from Versova to Juhu.

But my excitement and peppiness only lasted a few minutes once I got home. The bloody broadband cable connection was down. So my hopes of being the first one to blog about the Meet went down the drain (yes! I do understand that I need to get a life).

So to kill my spare time, I picked my drawing pad and started with my cartoon creations once again, after a gap of nearly 3 years.

This time my inspiration was none other but Mr. Gary Larson‘s work in his book The Far Side Story, Volume 4.

The Far Side series made him practically immortal in the world of caricature and cartooning. The subtle humor, he puts in his characters is simply superb and will never fail to bring a smile on your face.

The above cartoon displaces the simplicity of humor which Mr. Larson completely excelled in. This particular chicken joke has been around for ages and has been answered in thousands of different words, but Mr. Larson puts it front of us in a new form and above all with a new meaning.

Applying the same logic to life, one wonders – Do we really need a reason for our every action?

Hi,
I’m the person that did the draw :-) , no problem, I’ve been only really amazed to find it on the net; I gave it to a friend in USA back in 1992 and I’m only curious to know where did you find the draw.
Just curious
Thanks, bye
