This is an update on previous post, “How Sakshi’s work got Flicked, got Published, and She got Nothing.”, where I had informed about how Sabyasachi Amitav had plagiarized one of the post from TRIO and published it on Peace Journalism, an e-magazine.
Obviously my very next step (after blogging about it) was to get intouch with the editor of the concerned magazine, Ms. Kamala. She responded to my e-mail almost instantly. She has apologized for the whole fiasco and has removed the article from the website.
However I am some-how not satisfied with the response and after seeking advice from Aaman and Justene, I have asked the editor to publish an apology letter on Peace Journalism. The reason for doing so is that editors/administers of MSM need to realize that they have to check what-ever they publish, especially articles from guest writers or sent-in mails. Plus they also need to take assurity from these very writers that their work is truly original and referenced correctly, if any thought/views have been borrowed.
I am still awaiting her reply.
Today I have also mailed the con-man himself Mr. Amitav. I am glad that I did mail him earlier and now I have enough dirt (on him) to throw at him.
As pointed out by Sujatha on Desicritics (with inputs from some of the DC authors and other bloggers), it wouldn’t be wrong to say that this guy is a black spot in the field of journalism. She has given detailed description of his wrongful-doings.
I guess its time that we teach such morons a lesson that they will never-ever, even dream of forgetting.
On the other hand would like to thank everyone for their support & advice. And a special shout-out to the folks at Desicritics, you guys make us bloggers proud !
UPDATE :
Public apology and aknowledgement by the editor Ms. Kamala of Peace Journalism, has been done.
Check it, here.
However, still awaiting for an appropriate apology from the main prick.

[...] The editor of Peace Journalism did not waste much time, re-published the concerned article with correct credits and also placed their apology note at the end of the write-up. Though everything well at this end, I hope that Peace Journalism has learnt some lesson and will be careful about what and above all whose work they put up on their e-magazine. [...]
