In the name of the daughter

Jessica Lal’s father Ajit Lal died of a brain stroke yesterday night without seeing his daughter’s murderers brought to justice. He had not been well since his wife’s death and had earlier suffered a major stroke that caused serious memory loss.

Ajit Lal had not been in good health after his wife passed away in 2000, a year after Jessica was shot dead at the Tamarind Court restaurant in Delhi in 1999 where she was filling in as a bartender. Before his wife’s death, Mr. Lal spent most of time running between Delhi court and police station inorder to get some justice for his daughter’s murder.

It’s horrifying to see an innocent man’s life completely shattered due arrogance and crudeness of certain members of our so-called liberal society.

May his soul rest in peace.
