Colleen Bighley with her pug Buck

Doggie lovers unite for a noble cause.

Colleen and Jim Bighley’s 2-year-old pug named Buck met with a serious road accident and nearly as good as dead. The couple were required to pay $3,000 surgery bill, inorder to save their dearest pooches life. Sadly, they couldn’t afford to pay such a huge amount.

Mrs. Bighley shared her grief on a pug-lovers’ website, where she had previously posted messages and pictures of her dog. She wrote about her plans to bring Buck home for one last night before putting him to sleep.

Fourteen minutes after Bighley’s post, a pug owner in Australia offered to chip in and urged others to follow. The next morning, the phone started ringing at South Shore Veterinary Hospital. More than 200 donations totaling about $2,000 came in: from France, from Alaska, from east, west and south.

Buck is home now, recuperating with his pug “sisters,” Jill and Gabby.

Here’s wishing Buck a very speedy recovery.

Very touching…Goes to show that humanity does not limit itself to the boundaries defined for it.

hi sakshi, its really touching to see that in this world of human cruelty , there are some noble hearts who do care for those little pets. lets hope, that it flows towards the human needs as they did for the little pet.
