I first noticed Ganesh in the ‘Abhiyum Nahnum ‘ trailer. Thought to myself, ah! new actor. Did not see the movie and soon forgot about him. Then came the Kamal starrer ” Unnaipol Oruvan”. His made his entrance with a gust and he was like telling his critics that he is no new kid on the block and that he is going to make it and he is HERE TO STAY. His private life is his private life, who gave us authority to judge him? I wish him all the best and may God grant him the desires of his heart.

i watched the tamil movie Unnai Pol Oruvan yesterday and decided to google Ganesh who was looking so handsome and smart in the movie.However i am disgusted with your reference “Ganesh comes from a middle class Tamilian family (he by no stretch of imagination looks a South-Indian)”.The perception you guys have about south indians is Disgusting.! Which journalist would even think about writing such a personal remark in an interview? Thanks to you and few others,everyone is the whole country totally gets a wrong opinion about south indians and the way they look.Not everyone in the North looks like a shah rukh or aishwarya either!(aishwarya incidentally is herself a south indian anyway!) . Stop type casting people,and making comments on the looks and apperance as belonging to a particular race. Dont make others like me become racist too! practise decent journalism else get out of the job.

I just finished watching abiyum naanum and felt like googling up Joginder Singh who seemed very charistmatic and appealing . His acting was very impressive and I’m sure that charming smile will take him to great heights. Happy to see south Indian models rising up and making their mark. Wishing him all the very best.

I find your interviewing and writing to have somewhat elitist undertones. You seem to imply that he can’t be South Indian because he has such sculpted and model like features. What a typical thing to say.

Are you serious? What kind of moronic ideas have you built up in your mind about how South Indians look? Obviously this isn’t serious journalism or entertainment journalism as you seem to lack objectivity. Maybe objectivity and non bias journalism isn’t a requirement for your job. People like you are those who hold us back by continuously separating based on some screwed up perceptions of looks and the such.

I don’t agree with Ardeshir that it was a good interview. However, I agree that a lot of the so called “Bollywood” actresses are South Indian. Ok screw the actors, what about the playback singers?

I would suggest you try to promote equality rather than emphasizing these backward stereotypes of what North Indians and South Indians look like.

i just saw ganesh’s latest tamil film opposite Trisha “Abhiyum Naanum” (translation would mean Abhi and me )……This guys rocks !!!……i think its his debut tamil film and he plays a young Sardar “Joginder Singh” and he is so amazing…..i think the most realistic potrayal of a sardar in recent times…..beats akhsay’s potrayal in singh is king hollow ….anyways gr8 movie hillarious and emotional at the same time and the cross culture love angle is so cute …..i have a gut feeling he is gonna win an award for it….
havent seen Angrez…think i will grab a copy frm smwhre

OK who here including the author thinks South Indians can’t be fair?
First things first Ganesh is an Iyengar (assuming from his name) and Iyengars look like that in general…
The interview is fine…
But when interviewers tend to be so damn racist about descriptions…
Seriously, do I even need to start mentioning how many South Indians look like that…
But then again who really cares what you think!
He’s South Indian and we’re proud of him…
His movie was great for a first…
When will people like you come to your senses!

Are you trying to say that south indians are not good looking??
Or are you trying to say that they are always “dark” and “ugly”?? If I might point out – Aishwarya Rai is a south indian… so is hema malini.

Life is a bitch. It does not always favour those who deserve better.In this Mathlabi world You have to give up something to get something.It is true in the case of Ganesh and Saumya Look at the bozzos like Sharukh , Salman khan and bimbos like Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai who are making hay while the sun shines. inspite of their having minimum acting skills.Both Ganesh and Saumya and Amir Khan too It appears to me appeal to the aesthetic and visual senses . and are not prepared to compromise what is more valuable in them (their brains and beauty) for the sake of short lived fame in the fantasy (farcical) world of Bollywood
