The Real Bluffmaster

“The whole this is that..ke bhaiya,
movie Bluffmaster is badeya.”

This weekend saw the much awaited Rohan Sippy’s “Bluffmaster”. Here is my take on the movie.

Rateing = 3/5

Up Side

The real hero of the movie is NOT Abhishek Bachchan but the ‘dialogues’ of the movie. The ‘one liners’ used in the movie are too good and very different from what we are use to hearing. Though should be well-aware of the Indian tele-wood/bollywood to actually understand them.

Nana Patekar has one again done a very good job. Though it may seem repetitive but he still makes you ‘jerk’ with laughter. Watch out for the him at the end of the movie, he is too good.

The songs are good (we all know that)..but the picturisation is also well-done, so you don’t feel like going to the ‘loo’ or playing with your ‘cell-phone’, when they are on.

Chemistry between Abhishek and Priyanka Chopra is definitely there. They make a good pair.

The director has picked all the best locations in Mumbai city. He has made the city look cool as well as cocky, inshort he makes you fall in love with this ever-amazing city.

Priyanka Chopra looks and acts well.

Not so great

There is nothing very original about the movie. To story seems to be generated out of couple of Hollywood movies.

Booman Irani is totally wasted. An actor of his caliber deserves much more.

Ritesh Deshmukh is good…but could have done a much better job.

The movie does get a wee-bit slow in the middle. It’s expected to maintain the pace thru out.

The ending is suppose to be a bit ‘twisted’ but regular bollywood buffs will find it very easy to predict. Plus these days every second movie has a twisty ending, so there is noting very great about it. It’s like now we long for a simple ‘regular’ kind of ‘the end’.

Frankly, I didnot find Abhishek’s acting all the great. Maybe I just expected too much.

Overall it’s a great good movie and total paisa vassol thanks to catchy one-liners, songs and Nana Patekar.

ps…I guess it’s time for Abhishek to either shave his chest up or locate the top buttons of his shirt and use them.
