I am also enamoured of the Parsi community. Lovely, graceful women and happy, successful men!
I was tryimg to remember the song (above) and I remember the first lines as follows:-

My name is Jijiboy Jamshedji
I’m a Parsi guard on the GIP

Also:-

Once I pretended I was dead
The doctor came and sat on my bed

I even remember my mother singing it to us kids 65 years ago. I am now 67 and my mother just had her 90th. birthday.

hey… thanks for the JeejeeBhoy song… i remember singing it in my school days too…. there was another verse which i cant recall fully… it went something like

one fine morning in the middle of the night… two dead dogs began to fight…

those days were really awesome !! thanks for posting the song here !

Its nice to see that people are actually appreciating the astounding contributions made by the parsis, forgive me for being cynical but the fact remains that our contributions are often overlooked…….our humility is mistaken for meekness, our enthusiasm for insanity, and our compassion for naivety…….the society at large portrays our community with a significant amount of contempt and I believe that we are justified in our resentment of this derogatory and insensitive depiction of what is in essence a Utopian community…..just an appeal…..

I think parsis are just great ………if one goes deeper into their contribution to Indian society , specifically the contribution to Mumbai …it is just awespme and unmatchable ….and when one realises that it was made by such a small community …..it assumes a even bigger importance…..

I am new to bimbay but have been in know of certain parsis for some time now and i can vouch they are sweet , gentle , professional ….and thier habit of keeping names such as contractor , engineer , doctor etc is just ammusing . they should make efforts to increase their numbers ..anyhow ……dont know how and dont want to suggest how …..it would be a great misfortune of the country to let this small sweet adapdtable bawa community pass in the releams of history with only certain buildings and roads named after them ….India and Indians still needs to collective wisdom and experiance of this small community for times to come !!!!!!!!

Can one be converted to your religion, dear Chirag Kelawala ?
I agree that the Parsees are the most loving, caring and large hearted people. In our country, every community should be tolerent and adopt the idea of “LIve and let live “.
I also want to be proud to be a zoroastrian, but is that possible unless I am born to Parsee parents?

Partsis are undoubtedly the most loving, caring and large hearted people. In our country, every community should be tolerent and adopt the idea of “LIve and let live “. –My religion is supreme and entire would should convert to my religion –is the main cause of terrorism and war that we are seeing now a days. – I am proud to be a zoroastrian.

Does this acknowledge that there are people (not Parsis) who have ruined others places of worship…. Man, where is our secularism ???
