BIG BROTHER of the Internet World !!!

“In theory the US could decide to delete a country from the master root server.”

Went thru a very interesting article on HOW and WHY a group convened by the UN is calling for an end to US domination of the net, proposing that instead a multinational forum of governments, companies and civilian organisations is created to run it.
However it seems that the US is not ready to give up its authority that easily.

Yes this is a scary issue. I had written a paper on this theme as part of my graduate architecture thesis. Will post it on the web someday.

The monopoly will end someday. More and more technology is getting open-sourced and such controls over public domain will have to get decentralized or at least politically sterile. Thats not the case just now.

We all have a right to express our views. In many instances; it will be against ours and in some; with us. To hear them out is 'decency' but to let them get to you is 'weakness'. More info »
